UK hip-hop artist Stormzy has just been added to the already impressive Fiesta De Los Muertos line-up.
The 24-year-old Crydon native will perform his mega tracks like “Know Me From”, “Cold” and of course “Shut Up”. Brit visual band Gorillaz and Canadian singer Massari are also on the bill.
His gig at the Dubai Autism Rocks Arena on Friday, October 27, will mark his second in the region – he performed at Sole DXB in 2016.
This time, the man who is also the first grime artist in history to hit the top of the UK album charts, will be performing a number of tracks of his debut album Gang Signs & Prayer.
Speaking on Stormzy’s performance, the CEO of 117Live Thomas Ovesen said: “We are so excited to be adding one of the most in-demand rap, grime and hip-hop artists to our festival and know the regional fans will share our excitement as we have had thousands of requests, emails and calls asking us to feature Stormzy at the event.”
He added: “Just looking at his various collaborations with other stars you can see the reach of Stormzy and so we feel he fits perfectly with the other festival talents, spanning various genres and age groups and for what will be a fantastic, spooky yet fun Halloween themed night out at the Autism Rocks Arena on October 27th.”
While we let the news of Stormzy’s return sink in, here’s the list of other artists that will also be performing on the night.
The British virtual band who rose to fame with early 00s tracks like “Clint Eastwood” and “Feel Good Inc.” announced a world-tour earlier this year along with the release of their latest album, Humanz.
Lebanese-Canadian R&B singer Massari will be performing hot of the release of his latest track “Done da Da”. Clearly excited to perform, the 36-year-old, who shot to fame in 2005 with his hit-song “Be Easy”, released an official statement which read: “I’m so excited to perform at Fiesta De Los Muertos this Halloween, S/O to all my Middle Eastern fans.”
Last year’s clear crowd favourite, the lively band will be performing a number of upbeat covers which given its current popularity will undoubtedly include Luis Fonsi’s track “Despacito”.
The Dubai-based electronic duo from the UK have made quite a name for themselves in recent years. Having performed at Unite With Tomorrowland and Zero Gravity alongside “Fast Car” spinner Jonas Blue, it’s safe to say that they are on the fast track to becoming a household name.
Unfortunately, Nick Jonas will no longer be performing. The 24-year-old “Jealous” singer released an official statement explaining the news.
“Due to an unforeseen change in my work schedule, I am unfortunately no longer able to join you all in Dubai during Fiesta De Los Muertos. I hope to be able to make this up to you another time,” he said.
